Latest development in long-term partnership between Unicard and Oxfordshire

Unicard is pleased to announce that Oxfordshire County Council has deployed its Hot-Listing solution. This marks another key development in Unicard’s ongoing partnership with Oxfordshire County Council.

Unicard provides a portfolio of fully hosted and managed solutions that allow local authorities to deliver smart ticketing. The Unicard Hot-Listing solution provides local authorities with the means to identify and catalogue lost or stolen concessionary travel cards. That information is then shared with local travel operators to prevent fraudulent journeys from taking place. The solution is ITSO compliant and allows local authorities to better manage their ENCTS schemes and reduce the risk of fraud.

Oxfordshire is operating Unicard systems procured through the Transport for the West Midlands (TfWM) Framework Agreement.

Unicard’s relationship with Oxfordshire began in 2012 with the adoption of Unicard’s Host Operator Processing System (HOPS). Since then Oxfordshire has upgraded its smart ticketing capabilities to meet requirements. It has adopted Unicard’s Card Management System (CMS), to manage, process and produce its concessionary travel cards. This was followed by the deployment of Unicard’s Concessionary Portal (CCRS), a customer-facing portal. It has now added Unicard’s Hot-Listing to the solutions stack.

Unicard installed the solution and provided additional training and support. Since going live, Oxfordshire has realised significant time and cost savings. The solution has already proven to block the use of a large number of fraudulent cards.
