ITSO has congratulated Unicard on successfully completing testing and certification for all elements of Phase 2 of the ITSO Specification version 2.1.5.
This includes Unicard’s HOPS, POST Kernel and Remote POST – key components that currently support ITSO schemes and supplier integrations across the UK.
This achievement makes Unicard the first ITSO supplier member to achieve full compliance with Phase 2 of the ITSO 2.1.5 Specification, which introduces enhanced functionality and support for in-wallet digital ticketing.
ITSO said the milestone “reflects a tremendous effort from both the Unicard and ITSO testing and certification teams, whose expertise and collaboration have been invaluable throughout this process".
They added: “With Phase 2 certification now complete, Unicard is well positioned to help transport authorities and operators adopt the latest ITSO Specification and deliver more flexible, digital-first ticketing experiences.”
Now that Unicard have updated our ITSO products to phase 2 of version 2.1.5, we will be working towards Phase 3 when ITSO are ready in 2026.
ITSO version 2.1.5 arrived 15 years after the release of the previous version 2.1.4. In June 2024, ITSO issued a draft version of 2.1.5 for review by its members – who include Unicard – and refined the Specification based on members’ feedback.
